Fork light barriers are optoelectronic sensors and work on the principle of through-beam sensors. The transmitter shines directly onto the receiver. If an object interrupts the light beam, the switching function is triggered. Due to the special U-shaped design, the transmitter and receiver are located in one housing, which makes them highly resistant to vibrations. Compared to normal through-beam sensors, fork sensors also have the advantage of simpler electrical installation, as only one device needs to be wired. There is also no need to adjust the optical axes.
